The World’s Latest Top 50 Chemical Company Rankings Are Released, And Two Silicone Companies Are On The List

The US "Chemical & Engineering News" (C&EN) recently released the "2021 C&EN's Global Top 50 chemical firms for 2021" ranking list.The list is ranked according to the chemical sales of related companies in fiscal year 2020.

The total revenue of the top 50 companies from chemical sales in fiscal 2020 was US$795.8 billion, which was affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic, a decrease of 7.1% from fiscal 2019. The top three on this year's list are still BASF, Sinopec and Dow. Among them, two silicone companies, Dow and Shin-Etsu, are on the list, and silicone technology has continued to innovate. This year, a total of six companies headquartered in China (including Taiwan) are on the list: Sinopec, Formosa Plastics, PetroChina, Hengli Petrochemical, Wanhua Chemical, and Rongsheng Petrochemical. Syngenta, a Chinese subsidiary, ranked 26th.
