The Remains Of An Underwater Village in Britain Have Been Revealed in The Ongoing Heat And Drought

Aug 15, 2022

The village of Lanusine lies within the boundaries of what is now Mount Snowdun National Park. In the 1880s, the village of Lanoosing was flooded by Lake Vernoy, a reservoir built to supply Liverpool.

In the past, the lake used to hold 90 percent of its capacity at this time of year, the Daily Mail of London reported Thursday. But in recent years, Lake Vernui's water level has been falling, and these days it holds only 60 percent of its capacity.

Photographs published by the Daily Mail show stone Bridges, stone walls and abandoned houses that have been submerged by the lake. The last time the remains of Lanusine emerged from the water was during the great British drought of 1976.
