The Price Of WACKER Polymer Resins Increases By Up To 10%
Jul 02, 2021
The Munich-based Wacker Chemie Group will increase the price of VINNAPAS®, VINNOL® and VINNEX® brand polymer resins by up to 10%. Subject to the permission of existing customer contracts, WACKER will increase the prices of these products for a limited time starting from July 1, 2021, as a supplement to the price increase measures announced at the beginning of this year. The continuous increase in raw material and logistics costs is the reason for this move, and WACKER’s polymer business unit continues to ensure the reliability of the supply of polymer resins for customers.
VINNAPAS® solid resin is thermoplastic polyvinyl acetate (PVAc). These film-forming products have excellent bonding properties and gloss properties, and can be used as low-profile additives to produce fiber composite materials and formulate adhesives and coatings. The automobile manufacturing industry is also one of the application areas of polymer resins, and the products can be used to produce sound-absorbing panels and fiber-reinforced synthetic materials.
VINNOL® solid resins are binary and terpolymers of vinyl chloride, which can be used to produce heat-sealable coatings, printing inks, industrial coatings and adhesives for aluminum food packaging. VINNEX® series products are polyvinyl acetate-based additives, which can make different types of biopolymers compatible with each other, allowing customers to adjust the physical properties of bioplastic products according to their needs. Typical application areas of the product are high-transparency films for food packaging with significantly improved weldability, extrusion coated paper for paper cups, and thermoforming processes for mixed materials for high-temperature containers.
WACKER POLYMERS is a leading manufacturer of high-quality binders and polymer additives based on polyvinyl acetate and vinyl acetate binary and terpolymers. The product categories include redispersible latex powders, emulsions, and solids. Resins and solvents, etc. These products can be used in construction chemical products, coatings, adhesives, sealants, carpets and non-woven fabrics, as well as fiber-reinforced composite materials and polymer materials based on renewable raw materials.
