Xinjiang One Million Tons Of Syngas To Ethylene Glycol Phase I 600,000 Tons Smoothly Put Into Production

While many domestic ethylene glycol projects are competing for construction, on August 24, Xinjiang Tianye Huihe New Material Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Xinjiang Tianye Huihe New Materials Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Xinjiang Tianye Group, was successfully put into operation. The production of high-quality polyester-grade glycol products indicates that the project has successfully entered the normal production and operation stage.

Xinjiang Tianye's 1 million t/a syngas-to-ethylene glycol project is planned to cover an area of 2,200 acres, with a total investment of 7.99 billion yuan. Construction started in August 2017, equipment installation phase entered in May 2019, and officially in August 2020 Put into production.

Its core process uses patented technology for producing ethylene glycol from high-chemical synthesis gas. The first phase of the 600,000 t/a syngas-to-ethylene glycol project is located in Shihutan New Material Industrial Park, 147 Mission, Shihezi City, Bashi. It is the first project to be constructed in Shihutan New Material Industrial Park.

The specific process used in this project is: dimethyl oxalate synthesis and hydrogenation technology to produce polyester-grade ethylene glycol. The process includes: coal water slurry gasification, synthesis gas purification, purification, separation technology, dimethyl oxalate synthesis, hydrogenation technology to produce polyester-grade ethylene glycol. It has achieved the competitive advantages of large-scale equipment, intensive technology and large-scale production.
