Hurricane Laura made landfall early Monday in the southwest coastal area of Louisiana, us, with maximum winds of 240 km/h, according to several media reports.It was also the strongest storm to make landfall in the region in 150 years.

The hurricane

The market has learned that Hurricane Laura will strengthen rapidly and make landfall as a category 3 hurricane on the Texas-Louisiana coast. Dow Chemical temporarily shut down 170,000 tons of aniline (MDI raw material plant) and 200,000 tons of nitrobenzene (nitrobenzene plant) per year in Texas.No word yet on the 340,000 tons a year MDI facility in Freeport, Texas.
