Mar 23, 2021
On the morning of March 20, 2021, a chemical plant explosion occurred in an industrial park in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, India. At least 5 people were killed and many others were injured. They have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

After receiving the news, the local fire fighting center rushed to the scene for rescue as soon as possible. In the rescue, the rescue team has rescued about 40 to 50 people, trapped inside the company. At the time of the incident, dozens of workers were injured at the scene. The injured were taken to the nearby Civil Affairs Hospital, and the seriously injured were transferred to the Mumbai Hospital.
At present, the fire has been extinguished, and the local police are investigating the specific cause of the explosion. It is speculated that the boiler explosion may be the main cause of the accident.
It is understood that in recent years, production accidents in Indian chemical plants have occurred from time to time. In May last year, a toxic gas leak occurred in a chemical company in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, killing 11 people, including a child, and more than 200 people seeking medical treatment.
