Silicone products and applications

As a new type of high-tech material, silicone has been widely used in the fields of electronics, electrical appliances, aviation, aerospace, construction, textiles, medicine, and daily chemical industry since the industrial production in the early 1940s. The raw materials for preparing silicone oil, silicone rubber, silicone resin and silane coupling agent are various silicone monomers, and thousands of silicone products can be produced from several basic monomers. The silicone monomers are mainly methylchlorosilane (methyl monomer for short), phenylchlorosilane (phenyl monomer), methyl vinyl chloride, ethyl trichlorosilane, propyltrichlorosilane, Vinyl trichlorosilane, γ-chloropropyltrichlorosilane, and fluorosilicone monomers. Among them, methylchlorosilane is the most important, and its amount accounts for more than 90% of the total monomer, followed by phenylchlorosilane.

The key to the development of any polymer material lies in the development of monomer technology. The silicone industry is characterized by concentrated monomer production and dispersed product processing. Therefore, monomer production plays an important role in the silicone industry, and the level of monomer production directly reflects the development level of the silicone industry.

At present, there are many kinds of organic silicon products, and there are as many as 10,000 kinds of varieties. There are more than 4,000 kinds of commonly used ones, which can be roughly divided into three categories: raw materials, intermediates, products and products:

★Organic silicon monomer: mainly refers to monomers such as organochlorosilane and other synthetic silicone high polymers, such as methylchlorosilane, phenylchlorosilane, vinylchlorosilane and other raw materials.

★silicone intermediate: mainly refers to linear or cyclic siloxane oligomers, such as hexamethyldisiloxane (MM), octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), dimethyl ring Silicone mixture (DMC) and the like.

★Organic Silicon Products and Products: Silicone products are obtained by polymerization of intermediates and addition of various inorganic fillers or modifiers. There are four main categories of silicone rubber (high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber and room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber), silicone oil and secondary processed products, silicone resin and silane coupling agent. The silicone rubber is then subjected to a vulcanization molding process such as molding and extrusion to obtain a final direct product such as a conductive button, a sealing ring, and a swimming cap.
