1.Polycarbonate (PC)

Advantages: creep resistance toughness: dimensional stability; Limitations: Poor chemical resistance, difficult molding, low fatigue resistance, polycarbonate (PC) has excellent impact strength, high heat resistance and good dimensional stability. Polycarbonate (PC) was the first thermoplastic to provide these properties. Although stable to water, minerals, and organic acids, it is partially dissolved in aromatic hydrocarbons, dissolved in chlorinated solvents, and decomposed by strong bases. Polycarbon esters (PC) also have excellent electrical properties. Polycarbonate (PC) reinforced with glass fiber can further increase its strength and dimensional stability. A 40% glass fiber reinforced polycarbonyl ester (PC) reduces the thermal expansion coefficient to 1.0 in/in/ degree F x 10E-5(1.8 cm/cm/ degree C x 10E-5), which is lower than most thermoplastics and some metals. Its tensile modulus is increased five times. Its bending, tensile and compression strength increased by 2 times. The mold shrinkage rate is further reduced, making it possible to make very precise parts. High fluidity polycarbonate (PC) is capable of producing parts with cross section thicknesses less than 0.04 "(1mm). This high flow material has excellent dimensional stability. Its strength and rigidity are similar to standard polycarbonate (PC). However, its impact resistance will be lower than that of standard flow polycarbonate (PC). PC impact resistance and weather resistance, anti aging is better than plexiglass, generally used in indoor plexiglass, outdoor need long-term resistance to high temperature with PC.

2.Acrylic (PMMA) Acrylic (Acrylic)

Advantages: Transparent/dyeable

Weatherability: Electrical (insulation) characteristics

Limitation: poor impact resistance, fire retardant and other poles of the material is not transparent

Characteristics of plexiglass:

① High transparency. Organic glass is the best polymer transparent material at present, the transmittance of 92%, higher than glass transmittance. The tube of the solar lamp, called the artificial little sun, is made of quartz because quartz can pass through ultraviolet light completely. Ordinary glass gets through only 0.6 percent of uv rays, but plexiglass gets through 73 percent.

② High mechanical strength. The relative molecular weight of plexiglass is about 2 million is a long chain of polymer compounds, and the formation of molecular chain is very soft, so the strength of plexiglass is relatively high, tensile resistance and impact resistance than ordinary glass 7 ~ 18 times. There is a type of plexiglass that has been heated and stretched, in which the molecular chain segments are arranged in a very good order, resulting in a significant increase in the toughness of the material. If a nail is driven into the plexiglass, it does not crack. The plexiglass also does not break into fragments when punctured by a bullet. As a result, stretch treated plexiglass can be used as bulletproof glass and as seat covers on military aircraft.

Light weight. The density of plexiglass is 1.18kg/dm3, and the weight of the same size material is only half that of ordinary glass and 43 percent of aluminum (a light metal).

(4) Easy to process. Plexiglass can not only be used for lathe cutting, drilling machine drilling, and can be used acetone, chloroform and other bonded into various shapes of instruments, but also can be used to blow molding, injection, extrusion and other plastic molding method processing into large aircraft cabin cover, small to denture and denture and other various products.

3.plexiglass (acrylic), PC endurance plate, PS organic board, MS board

First: plexiglass (acrylic) respectively: extrusion plate and casting plate, extrusion plate identification is good transparency, with the most original identification method, fire burning, burning flame is clear, no smoke, bubbles, fire can be pulled out of filament. The casting plate is identified as: higher transparency, smokeless, bubble, squeak sound when burning with fire, and no silk when extinguishing.

Second: PC endurance plate, identification method is: high transparency, good impact resistance, play not rotten, fire burning is basic can not burn, flame retardant, and will emit part of the black smoke.

Third: PS organic board, identification method is: general transparency, reflective will have pitting. Relatively brittle, easy to crack. It hits the ground and it clicks. A lot of black smoke is produced when it is burned by fire.

Fourth: MS board, identification method is: transparency is general, there will be pitting when looking at the reflection. A lot of black smoke is produced when it is burned by fire. The basic PS board is close to, but the flexibility and processing performance are better than PS organic board.
