First, silicone products molding basis
The molding of silicone products mainly depends on the characteristics of silicone rubber materials. Silicone rubber is a thermoplastic elastomer that can be molded at a specific temperature and keep its shape stable. By adjusting temperature and pressure, silicone rubber can be quickly and efficiently molded into products of various shapes and sizes.
Two, silicone products molding cycle
The molding cycle of silicone products usually includes the following stages:
Preheating stage: the silicone rubber raw material is heated to its flow temperature above, so that it has fluidity, in order to facilitate molding. The preheating time depends on the type and thickness of silicone rubber, and usually takes a few minutes to dozens of minutes.
Filling stage: The silicone rubber begins to flow after reaching a certain temperature, filling all corners of the mold. This stage requires a certain amount of time to ensure that the filling is uniform and no bubbles are generated. The length of filling time depends on the size and complexity of the mold.
Cross-linking stage: After filling is complete, the cross-linking reaction between silicone rubber molecules begins to harden and fix the shape of the material. The crosslinking time depends on the formula of the silicone rubber and the required product hardness, and usually takes a few minutes to tens of minutes.
Cooling stage: After the cross-linking reaction is complete, the silicone rubber product needs to be cooled to room temperature to stabilize its shape and size. The cooling time depends on the thickness of the product and the required precision, and usually takes a few minutes to a few hours.
Demoulding stage: the cooled product is removed from the mold for post-processing or packaging. Demoulding time is related to mold design, product size and complexity.
