Characteristics and application of acrylic rubber (ACM/AEM)

Aug 18, 2020

Acrylate rubber (ACM/AEM) :

It is a polymer of ethyl acrylate and butyl acrylate. It is characterized by good heat and oil resistance and stable performance in lubricating oil containing sulfur, phosphorus and chlorine additives. At the same time aging resistance, oxygen and ozone resistance, uv resistance, excellent air tightness.Disadvantages are poor cold resistance, water resistance, steam resistance and organic and inorganic acids, bases. In methanol, ethylene glycol, ketone ester and other water-soluble solutions, the expansion is serious. At the same time, poor elasticity and wear resistance, poor electrical insulation, poor machinability.Operating temperature range: about -25~+150 ℃.Can be used to manufacture oil resistant, heat resistant and aging resistant products, such as seals, rubber pipes, chemical linings, etc.

Rubber Grommet

ACM has many defects such as sticking sticks, sticking molds, contaminating molds, low temperature resistance, and poor pressure change. Therefore, an improved version of acrylic rubber: AEM rubber was developed to compensate for these defects. The processing performance and high and low temperature resistance of AEM are better than ACM, and the price is also much higher!

Polyacrylate rubber is mainly used in the automotive industry, mainly used to produce high temperature oil seal, extreme pressure resistant oil seal, transmission seal, piston rod seal.Acrylic rubber has excellent heat resistance and oil resistance. It is very economical to replace fluoroelastomer within a certain range in the automotive industry. In the electrical industry can replace the silicone rubber, made of high temperature, oil resistant wire, cable, gasket and so on.It can also be used for container lining, oil-resistant products for petroleum exploration, and can be made into special rubber pipes and tapes.
